Last fashion week I wrote mostly about established designers and the catwalk shows I attended, but as those designers already receive a lot of coverage, this time I am going write about my favourite emerging talents or ones-to-watch!
This season I had time to look around the whole of the exhibition space at Somerset house and meet the designers. The first designer I would like to introduce you to is the charming Patrick Li.
Patrick's collection immediately caught my eye, the carefully mixed grey colour pallet, dotted with greens, purples and oranges, felt fresh and the asymmetric silhouette of the garments interesting. The designer talked me through his collection, sighting architecture as inspiration for the pleats and folds of the garments and TV static as inspiration behind his beautiful tonal print. Patrick had also treated areas of his fabric with a vinyl overlay, adding a 3D textual element to the collection. I find each piece to be new and innovative whilst also being completely wearable, which can be a difficult balance to achieve. I have a lot of love for his designs!
Unfortunately I didn't take many photos of Patrick's collection but I am hoping to receive some Look books shots soon, you can currently view his past collections at: www.patrick-li.com , enjoy!
