About two weeks ago, I visited the V&A to see their installations as part of the London Design Festival. The pieces where hidden amidst the many permanent displays so it was a bit like a modern art treasure hunt! My favourite finds where the glass sculpture suspended in the entrance hall (below) and the paper windmill gate, see the video on my Instagram here.
During the festival they where also running a From Club To Catwalk showcase which housed outfits by many famous designers of the 80s. These looks where influenced by the different fashion tribes who would frequent London clubs such a Blitz. I loved how experimental the clubbers where with their clothes, and it was this exerbitionism which allowed them to be a the forefront of fashion. Designers on show included: Willie Brown, Antony Price, Helen Storey, Sue Clowes for the Foundry, Theresa Coburn, Pam Hogg and of course Bodymap & Vivienne Westwood (Time Machine Collection).
